While Chef Gourlie was speaking on panels to civilian employers about reintegrating active duty service members back into the civilian workforce, we realized the significant need for employment opportunities where Veterans and their family members had a place where they felt understood and that would allow them to ease their way back into community outside of the military. It was for this reason that The Vet Chef was created. In addition to employment opportunities, we also offer mentorship and business guidance for Veterans and their family members looking to get into the food truck community. It is our belief that by serving our community and requiring our staff participate in at least one monthly community service or outreach event that we are able to assist our Veteran staff and their family members to overcome obstacles and challenges they continue to face. Additionally, it is our goal to partner with Veteran owned, operated and managed organizations to continue to bring a spotlight to the challenges our Veteran community face.
The Vet Chef was established in 2015. Our mission is to establish a brand of food trucks and restaurants owned, operated and managed by Veterans and their family members.
